Bioter- development of sustainable and innovative solutions

The aim of the project's measures is to make the Puhos bioterminal and industrial area interesting for companies to locate, utilise and develop the green industry and logistics ecosystem of the future, which utilises smart infrastructure and renewable energy solutions in its operations. The operations of existing and relocating companies are growing and diversifying. Companies employ new workers and retain existing jobs. The bioterminal has a recognisable, modern, and sustainable brand. The project will be implemented in two work packages: WP1 Development of operational and production methods The work package compiles and builds an innovation ecosystem with the aim of producing information to support the development measures of companies and the operating environment in the region. The innovation ecosystem consists of representatives of research and educational institutions, local companies, relocating companies, the city, the Chamber of Commerce, suppliers, logistics operators and development companies. In mapping the possibilities of smart infrastructure, smart water, rail and road transport, smart port operations and smart bioterminal operations will be examined. Based on the studies, an operating model will be drawn up. The work package includes workshop activities. There will be 4 themed workshops, and the end result will be basic information for the actual development of the bioterminal. As a final measure, bioterminal operations will be developed using the data and models obtained, and a seminar will be held on the operating model, potential and impacts of smart infrastructure of the new bioterminal. TP2. Developing a bioterminal concept The preparation of the concept begins with the basic elements of conceptualisation, i.e., studies and analyses, which provide information on the significance and position of the area and the bioterminal in the market. Develop a strategy. Describe the positioning in the market and prepare reports of analyses and studies. The workshop activities develop the bioterminal concept and create a recognisable brand for the area. As a result of the project, companies employing 10 people will be in the area, 2 companies will diversify their own operating or production methods, the area will be known as a good location and benchmarking site, and the bioterminal will have a recognizable brand.
