The aim of the project is to to build a new experiential cycling and outdoor trail (working title Santa's Trail) between Ounasvaara-Nivavaara-Pikku-Olkkavaara-Pajakylä. The trail will be created by connecting existing road infrastructure and fitness trails, enhancing existing nature trails in the area, and constructing new paths as needed to make them suitable for both cycling and hiking enthusiasts. The beneficiaries of the project include local tourism businesses, tourists, and residents. Indirectly, the project will bring visibility to the entire Lapland cycling tourism and contribute to increased year-round tourism. The project also promotes the implementation of the ecosystem agreement between Rovaniemi and the state, with a focus on Arctic tourism and future well-being services.
