The crisis of the wellbeing sector and the challenges in recruitment and commitment of the employees are affecting in the background. The main objective of the project is to increase the appeal of South Karelia's wellbeing sector for students and professionals returning to the wellbeing services, as well as the staying power for current professionals. At the same time, the adequacy and availability of skilled wellbeing service personnel will be improved in the future. The sub-objectives and related measures are: 1. Increasing the appeal of the wellbeing sector The appeal of the wellbeing sector in South Karelia is increased by creating a positive brand and influencing the current culture of the wellbeing sector by breaking down segregation. The SMEs' and 3rd sector operators' attractivity as employers is enhanced and their recruiting skills improved. The measures will support recruitment capabilities and develop a model that brings together employee and the employer. People outside the workforce but with a degree in social or health care are reached. Cooperation between public and private care services is supported. 2. Strengthening competence New ways of internships and on-the-job learning are created and graduation is supported. The pedagogical competence of practical training instructor is supported and the uniform guidance model for students in vocational and higher education and an internship path to working life are created. Digital technology is utilized and the student guidance is needs-oriented. 3. Strengthening the commitment in wellbeing sector The leadership and development skills of supervisors are supported and the wellbeing of the entire work community is strengthened. The situation in units with high staff turnover or recruitment challenges is stabilized, and ways to direct job seekers to these units is introduced. The goal is to secure enough competent personnel and support students' employment after graduation in the South Karelia region. Entrepreneurs are supported to carry out business profitably in a socially sustainable way. As a result, a new brand of the South Karelia wellbeing sector is created and it has promoted the positive visibility of the sector in the region, comprehensively considering education levels and employer and service sectors. The segregation of the wellbeing sector is unraveled and the current culture of the sector influenced. There are new models for training, which promotes students' graduation. An applied mentoring model and an internship path that meets the student's skill requirements is created. The students' working life skills, resilience and commitment to the profession increase. The pedagogic competence of the practical training instructor is strengthened and a unified student guidance model is implemented. Digitality is utilized in the implementation. The team learning model and teachers' working life periods can be implemented. The redesigned job descriptions meet the skill requirements of the employer and the employee. Supervisors have new ways to lead and engage a newly recruited professional. Well-being at work has been systematically enhanced. Implementation of horizontal principles: In the sustainable development of the local economic structure, the availability and commitment of employees is supported by public and private sector service providers in the wellbeing sector, promoting multi-stakeholder cooperation. Competent and committed personnel ensure equal and high-quality services. The new brand increases the appeal of the South Karelia wellbeing sector. Entrepreneurs carry out business in a socially sustainable way. In the development of intangible products and services, the brand of South Karelia's wellbeing sector is updated. New types of job descriptions and career paths, an internship path, a unified student guidance model and a team learning model are developed. All genders and their special characteristics and the unraveling of segregation are considered.
