CAREERDRIVER+

The CAREERDRIVER+ project focuses on the IT sector that is looking for skilled labor and the media sector that requires wide-ranging skills. In the capital region, there are several thousand unemployed people trained in the fields. At the same time, the need for labor, especially in the IT sector, is substantial. The project’s customized services offer solutions to the ‘skills and jobs mismatch’, the recruitment challenges of employers and the training and competence requirements set for employees. The project focuses on strengthening the work and functioning capacity and employment conditions of young people and the long-term unemployed. The project challenges jobseekers, employers, employment services and educational institutions to jointly consider, develop and model sustainable employment solutions, where the customer's skills and the employer's needs truly meet and employment becomes easier. The goal of the project is to create a new model of sustainable employment. The model is developed with four overlapping priorities: 1) development of customer guidance for a faster path to employment, 2) development of business cooperation based on sustainable partnerships, 3) development of a comprehensive guidance model and 4) continuous learning to support employment. The new model invests in diversifying the supply of services and in clarifying the service path from the customer’s point of view. In the model, a combination of expertise and support will be tailored for the individual customer by combining the educational offerings and guidance expertise of different educational institutions. Together, the project partners will create a seamless service package, in which the development of work and functional capacity, working life skills and field-related skills takes place simultaneously, whereby employment paths can be accelerated and enhanced. During the project, the model will be implemented as part of the service offering of Helsinki's employment services. After piloting, the model will be described in detail and published for free use. The assessment of effectiveness is carried out with quantitative and qualitative measures. The impact assessment will be published when the model is published.
