Many employers in Kainuu region suffer from labor shortages and recruitment problems. At the same time, Kainuu has a labor reserve of foreign people, who already lives in the area and who needs to get a job. With high-quality and sufficiently resourced support it is possible to enhance immigrants employment to the next level. In the process, the employers will get the workforce they need. There is a need for an individual, customizable service for both job seekers and employers. In the project, new services and models are developed, piloted and implemented, which help people with a foreign background to find job in companies and other workplaces in the region. Companies and work communities receive support for employing people of foreign background and communities develop their skills, attitude and courage to continue employing people of foreign background. The good experiences and best practices of employing people with a foreign background are widely communicated in the networks, so that the general attitude and awareness of the labor potential of foreigners would develop in a positive direction. The services and operating models developed in the project will be ingrained as part of Edukai's immigrant training and services, so they can be used in the future for the benefit of our region.
