Changes in working life require investments and readiness for continuous learning. Problems with the availability of skilled labor affect the development and utilization of new technologies, automation and robotics. The lack of skilled labor also affects the productivity and growth opportunities of companies. The project's main target group includes jobseeker-customers who develop their skills in the project, as well as companies in the region that are affected by the digital revolution. A solution to the problem of matching jobs and job seekers in the ICT sector and industry is being sought with a new operating model. In the model, jobseeker-customers who get training in additive manufacturing and companies with employee needs, meet at BusinessAsema at various events and occasions. The project also organizes events and training and information sessions for companies, where especially small and medium-sized companies get information about, for example, the digital transition and the possibilities of additive manufacturing. The project supports the goals of the Oulu Region's smart specialization 2021-2024 strategy, for example by helping companies in the region to renew their operations and production in line with the requirements of sustainable development. The project has two work packages: Work package 1 – Development of skills of job seekers Updating and deepening the skills of job seekers to meet the changing demands of the digital revolution (work trial periods, workshop series and events). Assessing the skills of the job seekers participating in the project, surveying job opportunities and supporting them in their job search. Work package 2 – Business cooperation and information Bringing the opportunities brought by the digital revolution (especially additive manufacturing) to companies in the region (e.g. informative events, events, seminars and webinars). Increasing business cooperation to improve the employment opportunities of job seekers participating in BusinessAsema's Digipaja and to ease the skills shortage in companies (e.g. by organizing events where employers and job seekers meet). Project results: Jobseekers who participate in the project's activities find employment and apply for various trainings or studies that further increase their skills. And the companies involved in the project get skilled labor. The service model created in the learning environment of BusinessAsema's Digipaja is well-known, and it supports the job seekers' goals of maintaining and developing, among other things, their skills in additive manufacturing. Companies in the area know Digipaja as a place for skills development, where they can continue to get skilled labor for their needs. Companies and individuals also recognize the possibilities of the Fab Lab in making a prototype and getting to know the equipment and programs of additive manufacturing. Job seekers also know about other services that support entrepreneurship offered at BusinessAsema.
