The area of the Northeast Finland suffers from labour shortage and lots of companies are facing problems in talent attraction. At the same time, unemployment rate is still fairly high and jobseekers have different challenges which may even hinder them getting employed. Work & Stay - Full life in the Northeast Finland -project responds to these challenges. The project aims to enhance well-being, employment and vitality in the area. Its main targets are to prevent marginalization and to support employment of disadvantaged groups as well as to promote availability of skilled labour. The project includes four working packages each with their individual topics and objectives: 1. Creating a model to support employment of disadvantaged groups by offering long-term guidance and support for both jobseekers and employers. 2. Developing local and regional employment services by enhancing network cooperation, increasing expertise and building tools for knowledge-based management. 3. Building relocation services to make it easier for new employees to integrate into local community and to find livelihood also for possible family members thus improving attraction and retention of the area. 4. Possibilities of the travel-to-work area are brought up by talent attraction and employer branding related marketing campaigns, by promoting entrepreneurship and by facilitating remote and multilocational work. Regional cooperation increases the effectiviness of the project actions. The principal actor of the project is city of Kuusamo and the subordinate actors are city of Pudasjärvi, the municipalities of Posio, Puolanka and Taivalkoski, Naturpolis Oy and Ksakki ry. Project execution period is 1.12.2023-31.12.2025.
