The main goal of the project is to promote the recruitment, employment and engagement of foreign-speaking employees in South Karelia. The goal is to create practical operating models at workplaces so that companies in the region employ and recruit more foreign language workers. Operating models are already created during studies and in the transition phase from professional education to work. In the project, Saimaa vocational college Sampo guides and supports working life workplace counselors in guiding foreign language students during periods of learning in working life. The project creates a positive image of the recruitment and employment of foreign-speaking workforce. In the project, strong network cooperation is carried out and the development of a strategic partnership between different actors is created. As a result of the project, foreign-language students get to learn in working life, get a job and stay in South Karelia. Employers get a skilled workforce when they employ an employee who speaks a foreign language. The threshold for employers to hire employees who speak a foreign language is getting lower. The network between the educational institution and employers is expanding and cooperation is deepening. Working orientation models and new employment models are created for workplaces. With the help of an employed immigrant, new contacts are made. In the future, immigrants who already have experience will guide new foreign-speaking employees and, if necessary, also act as language and cultural interpreters for new employees.
