Innovation platform for art, technology and sustainable tourism

The aim of the project is to create a permanent innovation platform based on visual arts expertise. The innovation platform will be multidisciplinary, combining expertise in the visual arts, technology and sustainable tourism. The platform will be based on a partnership between three universities and three Unesco Global Geoparks. The aim is to build mechanisms into the Innovation Platform to bring together artistic thinking, problem-solving skills and sustainable tourism approaches. The second objective is to build skills for working in a multi-professional team. The aim is to develop skills through training, in particular in production skills, and to recognise the diversity of approaches in different sectors. The third objective is to model and share the cooperation of experts in the visual arts, technology and sustainable tourism in the Geopark areas and to operationalise this cooperation on a permanent basis, which also has international export potential. The project will result in an open, long-term innovation platform based on the collaboration between the three universities and the Geoparks. The platform will build on the competence and creative approach of the visual arts and will allow the sharing of new RDI topics between the operators. In the future, the results of projects combining visual arts, creative thinking, technology and tourism will be used as part of the teaching and RDI work of the universities. This cooperation will lead to a better understanding of the different approaches to visual arts, technology and sustainable tourism. The project will bring a completely new perspective to RDI activities by putting the visual artist at the heart of the innovation process. The platform will bring together multidisciplinary cooperation to generate new knowledge for use in the development of sustainable tourism. In particular, the project will bring new ways of visualising scientific knowledge related to geology and sustainable tourism, and of understanding the significance of the Geopark area through the visual arts. The project will promote employment in the visual arts sector by improving the production skills of the target group and their ability to work as part of multi-professional teams. The international Geopark network is the context in which the project will operate and therefore the project will also be able to enhance and strengthen tourism capacity and the sustainable development of cultural environments.
