Prevention of youth marginalization and inequality is currently a remarkably important part of the goals of youth support services. The need for various services supporting rehabilitation has increased considerably during the changes taking place in society. The Rovaniemi Art Museum, in cooperation with Rovaniemi's Outreach youth work and the five municipalities of Lapland, implements a service that includes community art activities for young people in challenging situations. In the feedback from previous projects of the Rovaniemi Art Museum, the need to implement similar art activities in the municipalities, which is part of the support services, has clearly emerged. The ArtHop -project meets these needs. The preparation of the ArtHop -project has utilized the promising results obtained from the Rovaniemi Art Museum's Flow from Art and Power from Art -projects implemented in 2020-2023 and the needs that emerged as a result. During previous projects, the positive effects of art activities on young people's life skills were noted. The projects offered Rovaniemi Art Museum's remote services for youth work, adult social work and museum education. The ArtHop -project aims at the prevention of marginalization, the accessibility of culture and the continuous implementation of an art activity service in the municipalities of Lapland. The most important target group is young people, who are at risk of being marginalized and excluded from society. The service created through the operating model is offered to networks formed through previous projects in the areas of social and youth work. Subscribers to the service can be municipal youth workers, adult social workers, municipal cultural operators, or third sector operators. The goal is to create a new operating model for youth support services that promotes the well-being of young people in challenging life situations and increases activity in their own lives through art activities. The goal of the project is to create a permanent art activity as part of the municipal youth work service structure. In the ArtHop -project, two new operating models are created: 1) The project develops a participatory peer support model where young people act as peer mentors. Young people acquire the skills needed in working life when they act as peer mentors. The operation of the project is divided into three operating periods. Young people who participated in the previous season have the opportunity to continue as peer mentors in the groups of the following seasons. 2) In the project, a network of participants will be created, which includes, in addition to the art museum, actors from youth support services. As a new operating model, a planning group will be established for the ArtHop -project, which includes actors from Outreach youth work, Youth workshop activities and social services from a total of five municipalities in the Lapland region, as well as young people. The measures have been divided into 3 different operating periods in the period 2024–2027. Art Hop groups are always assembled at the beginning of the operating season in the group coaching or support services for young people in the municipality. The groups can participate in all operating periods if they wish, but the goal is that the assembled Art Hop group remains united for one operating period. Participatory art activities are organized for groups under the leadership of art museum professionals or with experts in specialized fields of art approximately 8-10 times during one operating season. As the project progresses, the young people who participated in the previous season have the opportunity to continue as peer mentors in the following operating seasons. The content of the art workshops is based on the art museum's contemporary art collection and changing exhibitions. Participants are not required to have previous experience in making art, but the content is planned in such a way that everyone gets the experience of success with professional guidance through different art methods. Art therapy methods are used in art workshops in addition to general art techniques. The positive effects of art and culture on well-being and perceived health have been identified and recognized in recent years. The positive effects of art have come to the fore, e.g. In a WHO report from 2020. Studies showed that art and cultural activities have been able to influence people's psychological factors. These include improving self-esteem, processing emotions and activating cognitive resources. The ArtHop -project brings added value to the content of group coaching services for young people in the municipalities of Lapland. Art activities support young people's well-being and participation, identify young people's skills and strengthen participation. Instead of adding more services, it is necessary to develop the existing services and the cooperation between them. In the project, together with the organizers of the support services, a pe
