Increasing the migration profit, getting investments, jobs and employees and remote workers to the province is critical from the point of view of increasing tax revenues and consumer demand. According to Statistics Finland's forecast, the region's population will decrease to around 60,000 by 2040. The population of Kainuu in 2020 was 71,664 people. The number of young women (aged 20–29) of the entire Kainuu population was only 43%. The imbalance between young women and young men is one of the biggest in Finland in the Kainuu area. The population structure of the region is skewed by the migration of women to large cities. Women are highly educated and in fields whose jobs are mostly found in larger cities. In order to increase the attractiveness and retention of the Kainuu region from the perspective of working-age women, we need: visibility of women's career paths and various job opportunities, networking among women and finding synergies, for example between women entrepreneurs and professionals. Kainuu needs to exploit its diverse talent potential and the knowledge of professionals from different backgrounds in order to develop and remain vibrant and attractive in the future. The project will organize training for employers to develop skills on current issues in working life and also on the issues raised in the project's study in order to in-crease the retention and attraction factors of working life. Measures planned for the Kainuu in all its diversity project: - Extensive research on factors that can create retention and attraction for the target group, especially in terms of job opportunities and entrepreneurship in Kainuu. - Active communication will be used to make visible the career and entrepreneurial stories of women working in Kainuu's key sectors and various new models of work (e.g. teleworking, hybrid work, multi-location). - Implementation of mentoring programmes (different implementations for different target groups). - Regular low-threshold events for the target group, allowing networking and also knowledge sharing. - Events for employers in the Kainuu region on the themes identified in the survey to support the attractiveness and retention factors of the Kainuu region's working life (e.g. anonymous recruitment, development of a teleworking model, etc.). Sparring on these themes will also be facilitated. - Kainuu employment and business life model, bringing together good practices and experiences and highlighting them in the media and in the Kainuu region. The project aims to create a more favourable environment for women entrepreneurship, focusing on business development, growth and entrepreneurial well-being. In addition, it is important to make different career paths visible to women with vocational training, especially in the top sectors in the Kainuu region. Alongside this, the aim is to support the vitality of Kainuu by increasing the attractiveness and retention factors of the region from the point of view of women.
