The project develops the well-being and health promotion skills, operating cultures and multidisciplinary networking and cooperation of professionals working with families with children by utilizing the Neuvokas perhe (NP) method. The focus of well-being leadership development is on improving the functionality of interfaces in child and family services, aligning with the specific objective 4.3 of the Innovation and skills in Finland 2021-2027 program (Equal Participation). As the interfaces between well-being areas and municipalities are currently being constructed, it is crucial to ensure that effective models for promoting the well-being of families with children, along with professional expertise, are realized, and collaboration among different organizations and professionals is seamless. Multidisciplinary development work is carried out in the services of the wellbeing services counties and municipalities (early childhood education, pupil welfare, family centres, family work, maternity and child health clinics, school health care, sports services and after-school clubs). These services aim to reach all families with children, including those in vulnerable positions and with special support needs. At the core of the project is the co-development of operating cultures and practices with the well-being services counties and municipalities, utilizing the expertise of professionals and the experiential knowledge of families. In this project, new modules for multidisciplinary collaboration and well-being leadership are developed to enhance the expertise of professionals using the NP method. Training is provided to professionals for whom well-being content is not part of their usual job description, such as early childhood education. The dissemination of project results on a national level will be promoted by developing the NP contact person network and a trainer model. The family- and resource-based NP method has been evaluated as one of the EU Commission's best practices and can be found in several Finnish recommendations. The method provides professionals a way to support families, increases their sense of self-efficacy and thus their sense of self-worth, existing practices in early childhood education, easy-to-use materials and well-being communication to families to support everyday life. Content includes: eating and food education, exercise, rest and screen skills, building a healthy body image, childhood obesity and supporting parenthood. The project implements development actions and priorities under its sub-theme 2: Work Package 1: Development of well-being leadership practices and network collaboration for a multidisciplinary well-being path for families with children. Work Package 2: Increasing the expertise and collaboration of professionals working with families with children. Work Package 3: Integration of the development of well-being services for families with children into the project areas and nationwide dissemination. As a result of the project, operating models and cultures support the health and well-being of families. The expertise and multidisciplinary cooperation of professionals working with families with children has increased. The multidisciplinary use of the NP method has become ingrained in the project areas as part of the practices and is disseminated nationwide through the contact person network. The implementation of the project will be evaluated using goal- and measure-specific indicators, as well as the NP criteria to be developed to support the evaluation. In the long term, the results will be equal well-being services, and practices for families that contribute to preventive work in reducing social and health disparities. The well-being of children and families improves. At the well-being service county and municipal levels, these results can be assessed through surveys such as FinLapset, school health survey, and TEAviisari.
