Agency - services that promote equity, antidiscrimination and participation.

The consortium project focuses on developing social services for three population groups that are at greater risk of social disadvantage: persons of migrant origin, victims of human trafficking (also non-migrants) and the Roma population. The project will produce national-level action models based on a comprehensive multilevel analysis of the current situation, cross-sectoral collaboration, and impact assessment. The development work is implemented with participatory methods. Emphasis is also put on dissemination and integration of the developed models into practice. The objective and aims of the project were formulated considering the diverse background characteristics, particular needs and previous actions that have been implemented to improve participation, equity, non-discrimination, agency and accessibility of services for the target populations. The main objective of the project is to strengthen participation, equity, non-discrimination, agency, and gender equality of migrant origin persons, victims of human trafficking and the Roma population. Emphasis is placed on developing services for groups in most vulnerable situations that belong to simultaneously several minority or otherwise disadvantaged groups. The aims for each of the projects are: 1) To develop social services for migrant origin persons that strengthen integration, agency, wellbeing, participation, and equity. 2) To develop social services for victims of human trafficking that strengthen capacity-building of professionals in helping the victims, as well as to develop new solutions in wellbeing county services. 3) To develop health and social services that strengthen equity, participation, agency and resources of the Roma population as outlined in the National Roma Policy (ROMPO3). The consortium is coordinated by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. Consortium partners are the University of Helsinki, the city of Kajaani, Central Uusimaa wellbeing county, Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing county, Moniheli association, Settlement Tampere association, Romano Mission association, and the Finnish Roma association.
