The project aims to solve the identified obstacles hindering the employment of international degree students in the operating region of Häme University of Applied Sciences. Through the project activities we will advance the employment of this target group and support the integration and settlement of international degree students to Kanta-Häme region and to the Finnish work environment. The project is set to the general framework of existing service structure at HAMK and the new service models and activities created in the project are integrated into this service palette to ensure sustainability. We intend to be actively involved in generating growth to the Häme region through competence development, by increasing the employability rate and enabling active participation and cooperation. As a university, we do not only educate the talents of the future, but we also focus on integrating and supporting their settlement to the region, to the Finnish society and to meaningful employment. The project is implemented in close cooperation with local employers, enterprises, and other actors in the region’s business environment. The aims of the project are the following: - to solve the obstacles hindering the employment of international degree students through strenghtening Finnish language skills - to support the integration and settlement of international degree students to the region - to produce comparable and sustainable data on employment of international degree students and on the factors which support them settling in the region.
