Development of the Smolyan region through investments in sustainable tourism, creation of new attractions and preservation of the cultural and historical heritage on the territories of the municipalities of Smolyan, Chepelare, Banite and Zlatograd and improvement of transport connectivity

Activities for sustainable use of natural resources are envisaged – creation of eco-trails and attractions for children in the resort of Pamporovo, Smolyan Lakes area, the town of Chepelare, etc.; purchase of electric vans and bicycles, charging stations; activities for the preservation of cultural and historical heritage - renovation of RHM "Stoyu Shishkov" - Smolyan and creation of a digital center; activities for improving the space around the monument Rhodope Shipka and building a visitor center; restoration and renovation of the exposition of Zgurovski Konak in the village of Shiroka Laka; creation of conditions for combining cultural with balneotourism – presentation center and renovation of an old mineral bath in the village of Banite and renovation of a center for balneotourism in the village of Erma Reka; additional measures to promote tourism and connectivity, improvement of settlements, reconstruction of the road Smolyan Lakes; provision of facilities for an ice rink, transformation of a playground into a historical park, promotion of the tourist potential of the region through an interactive platform and organization of an Orpheus Festival. In connection with the opening of the Rudozem-Xanthi border checkpoint, the project includes a major overhaul of road III-868 Rudozem-Smolyan - one of the important links not only for the development of tourism, but also for the accessibility of people and guests of the region.
