The project aims to support economically disadvantaged individuals and families expecting a child by meeting their basic needs for goods and supplies to ensure an equal start for all children from the maternity home. The achievement of this objective represents a new step in the modernisation of the social system and contributes to providing social protection to disadvantaged families, with a focus on children in a new and modern way, in cases where the provision of the basic needs of goods and supplies for the newborn presents serious material difficulties. By providing material support in the form of packages containing a predetermined set of items intended for newborn children from vulnerable groups, appropriately complemented by accompanying measures provided by social workers from the field of social protection and child protection - the well-being of children and their families will be enhanced, thus preventing their social exclusion from the very beginning of their development. Attention will be focused on contributing to ensuring children's proper and normal development on the one hand, and on actions to increase parental capacity to care for them on the other. The project is implemented in the context of the implementation of procedure BG05SFPR003-1.003 "Purchase of goods for newborn children", which purchases goods and items to be included in the packages for newborn children from poor and at-risk families. In addition to assisting with basic goods and products for newborn children, social workers from the SSP will provide accompanying measures such as referring parents to appropriate social services, abandonment prevention measures, family counselling, etc.
