The project "Establishing Bulgaria as a Competitive Investment Destination through Support of the Activities of the Bulgarian Investment Agency (BIA)" aims to increase the share of foreign investments in Bulgaria, with a particular focus on the northern regions. Through targeted measures, the project will support the development of a sustainable and favorable business environment and enhance the country's competitiveness. The main activities include expanding the scope and quality of targeted services for real and potential investors provided by BIA by maintaining an up-to-date socio-economic profile of Bulgaria and sectors with development potential, as well as conducting periodic analyses of the profiles of potential investors. Measures for attracting foreign investors targeted at the northern regions will be developed, including a methodology for data collection through an online form, a methodology for identifying potential investors, and an investor's handbook. The project will also focus on improving the quality of services for investors through the digitization of data and information exchange processes with investors, regional, and local authorities. Another key aspect of the project is attracting foreign investors through proactive investment marketing. This includes implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy and plan, organizing and participating in investment forums, exhibitions, and meetings with potential investors. Specific activities to encourage direct foreign investments in Bulgaria, with an emphasis on the northern regions, will also be conducted. The project also foresees enhancing the institutional capacity of the administration through the exchange of experience, data, and information between municipal administrations and BIA. Targeted training for BIA employees will be conducted, aimed at improving the professional service provided to potential and current investors.
