The project provides for the construction of infrastructure that will achieve compliance with national and European legislation in the field of water abstraction and treatment, increase the efficiency of systems and facilities, and optimize the water management process. The project activities aim at achieving compliance with Directive 91/271/EEC, Directive 2000/60/EC, Directive (EU) 2020/2184. As a result of a Regional Pre-investment Study, the following measures have been identified to be included in the scope of the project: reconstruction, modernisation of the existing water and sewerage infrastructure, and construction of new networks and facilities for 4 agglomerations with more than 10 000 inhabitants - Haskovo, Harmanli, Dimitrovgrad, Svilengrad, part of the separate territory served by Vodosnabdyavane I Kanalizatsia Ltd. Haskovo. The project includes 32.80 km. reconstruction of water supply network; reconstruction of pressure regulators from wells, collection and supply water pipelines up to Yabulkovo DWTP with a length of 11.22 km., metering devices - 13 pcs., pressure regulators: 2 pcs., HWC - 1 184 pcs., reconstruction of shaft wells 12 pcs. up to Yabulkovo DWTP, 4.66 km., reconstruction of sewerage network; 4.55 km. construction of new sewerage network; rainwater overflows: reconstruction of 2 pcs. and new 1 pcs., SCO-new 95 pcs., HSC -reconstructed 263 pcs., reconstruction and modernization of DWTP - 2 pcs.; construction of new DWTP - 1 pc. , construction of new WWTP - 1 pcs. The additional number of equivalent inhabitants with access to improved wastewater treatment after the project will be 19 584 eq. Residents with improved water supply will be 64,121. Residents connected to at least secondary wastewater treatment will be 18 280 pc.
