The project "Reconstruction of Stara Zagora and Nova Zagora Railway Station Complexes", Ph.2 is a continuation of a project financed under OPTTI. The need to extend the period for the implementation of the project in two phases (two program periods) is due to a complex of factors, the main ones for the Stara Zagora site being the war in Ukraine and the disaster of torrential rain that fell on 24.08.2022, as a result of which the BTP issued two Force Majeure certificates. This significantly delayed the acting of completed works. This is the reason why part of the payments to the builder and related consultancy services will be made in Ph.2 of the project. Act 16 dated 14.12.2023 and a Permit for Use (PU) dated 23.12.23 have been issued for the object. For the Nova Zagora - an initiative of a local committee, which organized in the summer of 2021 a signature to preserve the existing main building of the station and protests against its demolition. As a result of a procedure initiated by the NIPCH with Order No. RD-9D-3/02.11.22 of the Minister of Culture, the main building was classified as a unified architectural-construction immovable cultural value and a special conservation regime has been assigned. This led to a change in the concept of the realization of the object, which provided the demolition of the existing one and the construction of a new main building. In the new strategy it is envisaged, as Ph.2, that the existing main building will be reconstructed/restored, preserving its authentic characteristics, structural strengthening will be carried out in the necessary volume. The vertical layout and the surrounding space will be improved, including platform 1. In Ph.1, works on the reconstruction of platforms 2,3 and 4 were completed. Act 16 dated 13.12.2023 and a PU dated 22.12.2023 have been issued for the object. For Ph.2 there is issued Construction permit №PC-41/01.06.23. The beginning of the Ph.2 of the project is 01.01.21 and the end is 31.12.26.
