The project proposal is for technical assistance to develop feasibility studies for a new line on Bulgarian territory with a second railway border crossing between Türkiye and Bulgaria. The project is to identify and analyze different options for a railway route within the borders of the Yambol region and select the most appropriate option for implementation on Bulgarian territory of the new cross-border railway line Yambol-Lesovo-Odrin. The line is intended to meet market needs and relieve traffic through the existing railway border crossing Svilengrad - Kapikule. The project includes the following main activities: Activity 1: Feasibility studies Activity 2: Administrative and coordination fees Activity 3 Publicity. The successful implementation of this project will provide readiness for the next phase of the investment project: the design of the railway line Yambol - Elhovo - Lesovo - border with Republic of Türkiye. Start date: 18.01.2024 (with the start of the feasibility studies). End date: 18.08.2025 The total implementation period is 20 months.
