The current project proposal represents Stage II of the OPTTI phased project “Rehabilitation of Railway line Plovdiv-Burgas, Phase 2”. The implementation of the current project proposal will lead to completion of all rehabilitation and modernization activities on the railway infrastructure along Plovdiv-Burgas railway line, except for Plovdiv Railway Node, which is co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility. Compliance of the railway infrastructure with the interoperability requirements will be achieved and the commitments of the Republic of Bulgaria to bring the core TEN-T network in line with the requirements of Regulation 1315/2013 by 2030 at the latest, will be fulfilled. Plovdiv-Burgas railway line is part of the “core” Trans-European Transport Network and part of the “Orient/East-Mediterranean” Corridor. The existing Plovdiv - Burgas railway line is electrified and its total length is 293 km, of which 140 km are single track, and 153 km are double track. The scope of this project includes the completion of the following components: - Component 1 - Design and construction of signalling and telecommunication systems along Plovdiv - Burgas railway line, including: signalling in 18 stations; ETCS, level 1; dispatch centralization system in Manole-Burgas section; GSM-R; optical cable; - Component 2 - Construction of overpasses/underpasses in the place of existing level crossings along Plovdiv-Burgas railway line, including: removal of railway crossings and construction of overpasses; - Component 4 - Rehabilitation of Skutare - Orizovo railway section, including: renewal of the permanent way; reconstruction of bridges; renewal of the existing catenary and signalling in stations; - Component 5 - Modernization of Orizovo - Mihaylovo railway section, including: renewal and construction of permanent way and catenary; ....
