Project Capital dredging - basin between Terminal "Burgas West" and Terminal "Burgas East 2/2A/" (with a short name - "Capital dredging in the Port of Burgas") is related to the construction of the new quay wall for vessel berth 28 at the port terminal Burgas-West of the port for public transport Burgas within the meaning of Article 106a of the Maritime Space, Inland Waterways and Ports of the Republic of Bulgaria Act, it is necessary to carry out dredging works for the construction of the operational water area and the maneuvering area between Terminal "Burgas West" and Terminal "Burgas East 2/2A/". The deepening of the water area of the basin maneuvering zone to T2A and the port terminal Burgas - West represents capital dredging, with which new design depths will be achieved. This will enable the handling of vessels up to 260m long, 32m beam, 14.5m draft and 80,000 tonnes DWT and use existing cargo handling facilities, so around 100,000 20ft equivalent units (TEU) can be processed additionally. The scope of the project includes the implementation of the following activities: Activity 1: Capital dredging; Activity 2: Construction supervision; Activity 3: Design supervision; Activity 4: Information and communication; Activity 5: Technical assistance. The project implementation period is 13 months. The starting date of the project is 30.10.2023 - the date of signing a contract for "Capital dredging in the maneuvering basin area next to T2A and port terminal Burgas-West". For the purposes of the publicity activities it will be used short name of the project - "Capital dredging in the Port of Burgas".
