The project of CoC “PERIMED” will be implemented by 4 partners: 1. Medical University – Plovdiv (lead partner) 2. Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski” 3. Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography “Acad. Ivan Kostov” with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences 4. NGO “PERIMED - 2” (new partner) Three activities will be carried out within the project: 1. Scientific research activity and dissemination of scientific results 2. Construction and/or modernization of scientific research infrastructures and equipment necessary for conducting scientific research 3. Training and mobility of researchers The research programme of the project includes 10 work packages: 1. Gut microbiome – potential for colorectal cancer prevention. Genetic monitoring of breast cancer 2. Diagnostic and prognostic genetic markers and therapeutic targets in patients with myeloid malignancies 3. Phytopharmaceutical strategies and biotherapeutics in personalized medicine 4. Development of a complex modern methodology for specialized molecular genetic and flow cytometric monitoring of minimal residual disease in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia 5. Data driven root-cause analysis and personalized management of the critically ill patient Molecular biomarkers of the human microbiome 6. Immunomodulation, cytotoxicity and selective antitumor activity. Immunopreparations 7. Biopolymers, nanomaterials and biologically active substances 8. Biocatalysis and biosensors 9. Physico-chemical control of innovative medicinal forms and active pharmaceutical ingredients The expected results of the project implementation are: - Increased capacity to carry out scientific research in the field of personalized medicine - Protected industrial property rights, some of which will be implemented in practice in the industry through technological transfer - Improved collaboration between scientific organizations in the field of personalized diagnostics, therapy and medical care
