Management of the National Priority Action Framework for Natura 2000 (NPAF)

The National Framework for Priority Actions for Natura 2000 (NFPA) has a duration of 6 years, which is reviewed and, if necessary, updated every 2 years. For this purpose, an interim evaluation will be prepared to assess progress in the implementation of the NFPA, as well as to provide and conditions for better management, identification of significant trends, adaptation to changing conditions, risk management, improvement of the planning and management process. The mid-term evaluation is an important part of the NFPA, as it can provide a basis for a proposal to update the NFPA based on the analysis and results. Annual progress reports on the implementation of the NFPA are prepared by the Natura 2000 unit. Staff training is necessary to exchange experiences at the level of public policy led by other EU Member States, to cover the different stages of development, management and monitoring of the FPA at national level. The capacity building of the staff of the Natura 2000 Unit will fulfil their obligations under Article 8 of Directive 92/43/EEC.
