The project proposal aims to support the effective management of Natura 2000 network in Bulgaria by providing material and technical support for the management authorities for Natura 2000 sites at national and regional level. With the adopted amendments and supplements of the Biodivercity Protection Act at the end of 2023, a management authority for Natura 2000 network at national level was established - the minister of environment and water as well as 19 regional management authorities - the directors of the RIEWs, of the National parks and of the Black sea basin directorate and the staff was increased. In addition to the necessary human capacity the heads of the structures provide after the adoption of the law, the normal performance of the authorities duties should also be ensured by supplying of the necessary machinery, equipment and software.The project plans activities for purchase and delivery of office equipment, cars, computer configurations, laptops, multifunctional devices, multimedia projectors, drones, GIS software and licenses to ensure the effective work of Natura 2000 network management bodies employees. Activities are planned for the preparation of the project proposal, as well as for the organisation and management of the project, visibility, transparency and communication and preparation of public procurement documentationd. As a result of the project implementation, it is expected an effective organisation for development of a project proposal to be ensured, documentation for submitting a project proposal to be prepared, an effective organisation and management, visibility, transparency and communication for the project to be ensured, incl. public procurement documentation to be elaborated. The implementation of the main activity of the project, the purchase and delivery of machinery, equipment and software, is envisaged to ensure the functional obligations of Natura 2000 network management bodies in Bulgaria.
