Within the project scope will be delivered five single-deck zero-emission electric multiple unit (EMU) trains, which will be used by the Ministry of Transport and Communications for provision of a Public Service Contract - subsidised and compensated passenger transport by rail within the meaning of REGULATION (EU) 2016/2338 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 14 December 2016 amending Regulation (EC) No 1370/2007 on the opening up of the market in domestic passenger transport services by rail. The project is an operation of strategic importance to the PTC. EMU trains shall be for a speed ≥ 160 km/h, with a minimum seating capacity of 300, equipped with ETCS - baseline 3.4 or higher, and GSM-R baseline 1 or newer generation digital radio, and shall comply with the requirements in the Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs) for the Rolling Stock - Locomotives and Passenger Rolling Stock subsystem of the EU rail system (Regulation (EU) No 1302/2014), EN and BDS standards and UIC regulations. The scope of the project includes the implementation of the following main activities: Activity 1: Project preparation for funding under the PTC 2021-2027 Activity 2: Delivery of five single-deck zero-emission electric multiple unit trains Activity 3: Project implementation monitoring and technical assistance Activity 4: Implementation of visibility, transparency and communication measures The project duration is 26 months.
