The project proposal is part of the activities along the railway direction Vidin - Sofia - Kulata, part of the European Transport Corridor (ETC) "Baltic Sea — Black Sea — Aegean Sea". Boychinovtsi traction substation is located on the railway line between Vidin and Sofia. The main objective of the project is to ensure seamless accessibility and connectivity of the Bulgarian railway section of the ETC "Baltic Sea — Black Sea — Aegean Sea", by reducing the gaps in the quality of the infrastructure for rail freight and long-distance passenger traffic. This will cover interoperability, safety and security requirements at EU level, ensuring the quality, efficiency and sustainability of rail transport services. The project includes the implementation of the following activities: 1. Execution of works: 1.1 Preparation activities; 1.2 Construction works, Dismantling, Delivery and Replacement of Equipment and Facilities 1.3 Interoperability assessment; 1.4 Contingencies 2. Information and communication; 3. Construction works supervision and compliance assessment 4. Project Management The starting date of the project is the date of submission of application material for the preparation and conduct of a procedure under the Public Procurement Act with the subject of the procedure "Preparation of detailed development plan, design and modernization of the traction substation Boychinovtsi with the construction of a telecontrol and tele - signalling SCADA system and warranty service and maintenance for a period of 10 years" and exactly 12.09.2022. The public procurement was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 17.10.2022 with No 2022/S 200-567692 and in the Public Procurement Register on 17.10.2022 with № 00233-2022-0094. The final date of the project is 2 months (20.05.2026) after the estimated completion date for the Supervision of Works and Compliance Assessment activities - 25 March 2026. The total implementation period is 44 months.
