The Municipality of Stara Zagora is developing the present project proposal, which covers activities for modernization of an existing composting plant and upgrading of the plant with the scope of treatment of separately collected food waste. This project is related to the capacity upgrade and modernization of a composting plant in order to organize the separate collection of biodegradable waste from the population of the Municipality of Stara Zagora and their treatment through composting. The implementation of the project will enable the local government to significantly improve its policies on environmental protection, maintaining cleanliness and greenery in the settlements and with the newly built and upgraded environmental infrastructure (the composting plant) will be able to provide quality, environmentally friendly and socially acceptable waste management services. For this purpose: - upgrade the capacity and modernise the composting plant in order to organise the separate collection of biodegradable waste; - purchase and supply of containers for separate collection of municipal biodegradable waste; - purchase and supply of equipment and machinery for the transport of separately collected municipal biodegradable waste; - setting up of the information system for intelligent waste collection and disposal and implementation of other ancillary activities.
