The integrated project concept focuses on transforming urban mobility and brings together priority investments by the Municipality of Burgas and its partners in the sectors of transport, education, and digitalization. The main objectives are to improve air quality, develop missing educational infrastructure, enhance road safety, and modernize the transport system. The project includes: the purchase of new electric buses to replace the remaining two diesel vehicles serving one of the busiest public transport lines; the construction of fast-charging infrastructure for public use; the upgrade of the centralized traffic management system; and the establishment of a multifunctional educational and training center for road safety and vehicle operation. The center will feature a road safety training ground for children and pedestrians, in line with the National Road Safety Education Concept (Council of Ministers Resolution No. 7/2021), as well as a facility for hands-on training of students from the vocational high schools of transport and mechatronics. Expected outcomes include the full electrification of a key public transport line, reduction of emissions, a safer environment for all road users—citizens, professional drivers, students, vulnerable groups, and emergency services—as well as a long-term reduction of road traffic accidents through structured education and practice, and the provision of modern educational infrastructure. The integrated approach combines compatible and complementary interventions in sustainable mobility, road safety, digitalization, and education. The concept embodies sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion—aligned with the values of the New European Bauhaus. The project will contribute to the achievement of indicators RCO74, RCO75, and RCO76 within the framework of the ITI and is fully aligned with the objectives of the PRD 2021–2027 and the ITS of Burgas Municipality, contributing to the vision of a 'smart and safe city'."
