The increase of the health problems of the population, as well as the increase in the number of lonely living old people and people in need of individualized support, additionally contributes for the expansion of the negative demographic trends. The achieved positives outcomes as result of the implemented projects related to the provision of care in the home environment motivate Veliko Tarnovo Municipality to search other possible opportunities to upgrade and expand the range of providing of hourly mobile integrated health and social services, including psychological consulting and advice provision in order the quality of life of the elderly and people with disabilities to be improved. The implementation of “Home Care in Veliko Tarnovo Municipality” project will ensure continuation and development further of the model for providing hourly mobile integrated health and social services for the elderly and persons with disabilities who are unable to lead an independent life, as well as it will contribute to improve their social, health and psychological status. In terms of the project implementation, the activity of the Center established in 2019 will be continued, through which hourly mobile integrated health and social services will be provided at homes and psychological support shall be ensured for the elderly unable to care for themselves and persons with disabilities. There will be ensured continuation of food, food products and necessities delivery, as well as provision of transport for the personnel providing the services from/to the homes of the individuals. The representatives of the target groups will be provided with information concerning prevention and health precautions and socially significant diseases, including consultations with a nutritionist and other specialists if necessary. In order to increase the quality of services, training and supervision will be held for the personnel directly involved in providing them to end users.
