The project proposal "Enhancing the security in the small settlements of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo" includes infrastructure measures from the "Green urban infrastructure and security in public spaces" sector. Main objective: Upgrading existing integrated video surveillance systems, outdoor artificial lighting and green solutions in public spaces in order to achieve their effective functioning. The planned interventions under the RDP will contribute for the overcoming of the existing imbalances between the municipal centre and small settlements, by providing a solution to the identified problems in 36 settlements with 22.77% of the total population of the municipality. It builds on the active and targeted policy of the municipal administration to build green infrastructure and protect the public order and the security of the local population. The objective will be achieved through the implementation of 4 activities: Activity 1. Increasing security by upgrading the integrated video surveillance system Activity 2. Integrating green urban infrastructure in public spaces Activity 3. Effective outdoor artificial lighting in 36 settlements on the territory of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo Activity 4. Organization and management of visibility, transparency and communication measures All measures and activities in the project idea contribute to ensuring equality, social inclusion and non-discrimination. The project idea contributes to two of the priorities of the IDP of the Minicipality of Veliko Tarnovo, Priority 1 Green and innovative municipality and Priority 5 Integrated territorial development. The project idea contributes to two different sectors: green urban infrastructure and public security and energy efficiency of public infrastructure, including supporting measures, which meet the energy efficiency criteria. The implementation of the project idea contributes to the well-being of over 50,000 residents of the territory.
