The project proposal covers activities with children and pupils, training of pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff, working with parents and antidiscrimination campaigns, carried out together with the partner institutions - one kindergarten and 5 schools with different concentrations of vulnerable groups (one of them in a neighbour municipality), a chitalishte and one NGO with experience in working with disadvantaged groups and social inclusion projects. Interest-based activities are planned, in 47 groups, for intercultural education through culture, science and sport, education in tolerance and conflict management, exchange visits, field trips, inter-school activities, educational excursions. Approximately 400 children and pupils will benefit, among them almost equal numbers of vulnerable and non-vulnerable groups. 48 pedagogical and 11 non-pedagogical staff will be trained, without assigning qualification credits. Working with parents - two educational mediators will be employed in two schools. All the mediators will work intensively with parents building effective school communities interested in quality education for their children. The experts of the educational partner institutions will work with both parents whose mother tongue is not Bulgarian and those for whom Bulgarian is the spoken language to form a positive attitude towards diversity in a multicultural educational environment, embracing cultural differences and aiming personal development of every child. The antidiscrimination campaigns foresee working with students and parents in educational institutions during the project and carrying out forums involving all stakeholders, such as members of the local community, institutions, and the media - 1 forum per school year. The duration of the project is 24 months and will cover two school years.
