The project reduces the amount of landfilled waste from the municipalities of Lukovit, Yablanitsa, Teteven and Roman. The specific objective is to provide the necessary infrastructure for separate collection and recycling of biodegradable MSW in the four municipalities. A system for separate collection and transportation of biodegradables will be built with the supply of equipment and containers for collection. A composting installation with biological stabilization and aerobic degradation in a bioreactor and maturation in compost rows is envisaged. The installation will be built at the Municipal Waste Management Center - Lukovit next to existing site for composting of "green" waste from public parks and green areas. An aerobic biostabilizer - bioreactor will be installed, bunker, input/output conveyors, automation and control. Two metal sheds will be constructed. A concrete site for the compost rows maturation is built. An internal road is envisaged. For the needs of the staff, Adm. building and changing rooms, staff bathrooms and toilets are planned. The following are being constructed: Fire protection water supply with 2 hydrants; Pumping station for fire needs; Water tank for domestic needs; Pumping station for domestic water supply with hydrophore system; Pipeline for domestic water supply; Local modular wastewater treatment plant; Sewage pipeline and rainwater collectors. The composting plant built under the project will process separately collected biodegradable waste from all settlements on the territory of the four municipalities and will produce high-quality compost. Facilities, machinery and equipment will be delivered: Machine for turning compost rows, Mobile shredders 2 pcs., Drum screen; Front loader, Mini front loader, electronic equipment and measuring devices for compost quality control. New jobs will be created, necessary for the operation of the new constructed composting plant.
