The project aims to improve the quality of ambient air through investments in plant species with the highest degree of efficiency in terms of capturing PM and purifying the air naturally. It is planned to implement landscaping in publicly accessible land properties - municipal property, in the urbanized territories of the city of Nessebar, the city of Obzor and the city of Sveti Vlas, Nessebar municipality, in which landscaping is provided for in full or as a percentage according to the Urban Development Plan. In accordance with the characteristics of the properties, paths will be made of grassy concrete perforated slabs, placing of parking pegs and curbs. The project proposal includes activities for project preparation, construction of green infrastructure to reduce secondary dusting in the urban environment and activities for organization, management and visibility. The project contributes to the implementation of the measures of the Program for the Improvement of Atmospheric Air Quality in the Municipality of Nessebar for the period 2023-2027. Nessebar Municipality is one of the municipalities with impaired AQI in the country, with registered exceedances of the average daily standards and/or the average annual concentration of PM10, reported in the period 2017-2021, which fall within the scope of the Decision of the Court of Justice of the EU in case C-488/15 of April 5, 2017 for failure to comply with the standards for PM10 content and failure to fulfill obligations under Directive 2008/50/EC. The implementation of the project will contribute to the implementation of the country's commitments to improve air quality management, as well as objectives arising from national legislation - Regulation No. 12 of 15.07.2010. on standards for sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, fine particulate matter, lead, benzene, carbon monoxide and ozone in ambient air, which transposes Directive 2008/50/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council.
