The overall objective of the project is to improve the early development of children in the municipality of Nova Zagora, and the well-being of the children and their families. As part of the project, early childhood intervention services aimed at young children with disabilities and developmental difficulties, or at risk of developing them, will be provided. Family-focused early childhood intervention services will be provided by a trained team of 3 professionals at the Community Support Center. They will consult families and provide mobile services in the child's natural home environment, as well as interact with health professionals, nurseries, kindergartens and other social services in the municipality in order to improve the early identification of children with difficulties, their referral to the service, and their inclusion in education and care. This will make it possible to improve the functional skills and development of children, as well as to improve the quality of life and social inclusion of them and their families. The project will also focus on improving awareness and health culture among parents of young children from the Roma community in the municipality, especially regarding health prophylaxis and prevention, access to health services, and the importance of early childhood development and early identification and addressing difficulties. For this purpose, a health mediator will be engaged at the Community Support Center, who will mainly focus on the villages in the municipality. He will interact with the early intervention team and other services in the municipality and will carry out information, counseling, mediation and guidance activities among the Roma communities in the villages. The project will introduce mechanisms for guidance, cooperation and interaction between the various services and structures in the municipality, which will lead to an integrated approach to meeting the needs of vulnerable children and groups.
