For cleaner air in the municipality of Pernik, by replacing solid fuel heating devices with ecological alternatives

The Pernik Municipality is an eligible beneficiary during the 2021-2027 program period under the "Air" Priority to improve the quality of atmospheric air (AQ) by reducing the excessive levels of fine dust particles (and PM10) under the "Environment 2021-2027" Program. The purpose of the measure is to contribute to the improvement of atmospheric air quality (AQI) by reducing the excessive levels of fine dust particles (FPC10) on the territory of municipalities with violated AQI according to this indicator in the period 2017-2021. The focus of the project proposal is on solid fuel domestic heating, through investments, with the aim of replacing solid fuel stoves/boilers with alternative sources of heating, contributing to the reduction of harmful emissions and hence improving the quality of atmospheric air, leading to a significant positive effect on human health. The project proposal is in accordance with the measures laid down in the current municipal Program for reducing emissions and reaching the established norms of fine dust particles (FRP 10) and (FRP 2.5), SO2, PAV in the atmospheric air of the municipality of Pernik. To reduce emissions from domestic heating, the action plan for the program includes short-term and long-term measures (technical measures short-term measure 3 and long-term measure 5) for the gradual replacement of old and inefficient stationary individual and multi-family solid fuel combustion devices with new ones and environmentally friendly alternatives meeting the requirements of the Ecodesign Regulation. For the mentioned measures in the program, financing is foreseen with the funds of the Municipality of Pernik and funds from European funds and other international and national financing structures. The activities envisaged in the project proposal include preparatory activities, main activities and organization, management and visibility activities.
