The project proposal is related to the closure of two cells of a regional landfill, which are out of service, with the aim of reducing the risk of further environmental pollution and preventing risks to human health. The project proposal envisages reclamation and closure of cells No3 and No2 of the Regional landfill for non-hazardous and inert waste of the municipality of Petrich and implementation of monitoring of the closed cells. Reclamation of Cell No 3 and completion of the reclamation of Cell No 2 are planned, and the existing waste will be pre-deposited and resloped in a common body with stable slopes of 1:3 and slopes along the ridge /2÷5%/. Bulk facilities will be built to ensure the stability of the waste body and prevent active physical-geological and landslide processes. The total design area of the cell for closing after pre-depositing and re-cutting the waste is 19,400 sq.m., including cell No. 3 with an area of 12,450 sq.m., which will be financed with the 2021-2027 PES BFP. and cell No. 2 with an area of 6,950 sq.m., which will be financed by the municipality of Petrich's own funds. After reaching the project elevations and forming the waste body, technical reclamation and biological reclamation will be carried out. It consists of building an upper insulating screen and building a recultivating layer. Activities include: reaching the design elevations and forming the waste body; construction of a gas removal system consisting of horizontal drainage veins, perforated gas pipes and gas removal wells (for the purpose of capturing and controlled release of the gas into the atmosphere); construction of an upper insulating screen; construction of a recultivating layer.
