Redirecting the car flow outside the Central Business District of Pleven in order to ensure easier and faster transport access to the historical core, integrating green measures in open public spaces for culture and tourism

The city of Pleven is an administrative, economic, and cultural center visited by many tourists due to its unique historical and cultural heritage. In order to ensure better access to the historical and cultural sites, the need has been identified to redirect the traffic flow from the central urban area by reconstructing a roundabout and street network on the city's periphery, which will facilitate easier and faster transport access to the historical core of the city. This area will undergo renovations of cultural sites, the creation of new ones, and the implementation of integrated green measures in open public spaces for culture and tourism. By renovating cultural sites, providing better access to them through rehabilitated infrastructure, and integrating green measures in public spaces, the city's tourist potential will increase. The target groups are 88,565 residents of the city and 145,244 residents of the municipality and 200,000 guests. The integrated project idea is being carried out in partnership with the RHM and the RMHM. Project activities: A1:Reconstruction of technical infrastructure to divert traffic flow outside the city center; A2:Investments in park space in the Skobelev Park – Museum; A3:Investments in the existing building stock and furnishing in Skobelev Park – Museum; A4:Investments in the existing building stock and renovation of the RHM; A5:Investments in new facilities – construction of an amphitheater and exhibition hall at the Regional Historical Museum; A6:Visibility, transparency, and communication. Expected results: Renovation of cultural and tourist attractions, public leisure zones and green spaces, ensuring improved access to them, preservation of historical and cultural values for future generations, reduction of traffic congestion in the city center, reduction of harmful emissions, support and promotion of cultural tourism, stimulation of economic growth, and improved quality of life for all members of the community.
