The current project is aimed at implementing of greening measures in the urban environment of the city of Plovdiv, incl. - implementation of priority investments in plant species with the highest degree of efficiency in terms of capturing FP10 and purifying the air in a natural way, with the aim of reducing secondary resolution and increasing the air quality. This will be realized through the following main measures: construction of green infrastructure, irrigation systems, etc., accompanied by activities on valuation analysis, preparation of documentation for public procurement, preparation of consolidated documentation, project management and visibility, transparency and communication measures. The project will lead to the achievement of the following results: improvement of the air quality in the Municipality of Plovdiv, worsened by pollutants, through the construction of 31, 77 ha of green infrastructure, which will benefit a population of 325,485 people (NSI/2023); making a contribution to the fulfilment of our country's commitments and goals in the sphere arising from European and national legislation, such as those determined by the Judgement of the Court of the EU in case C-488/15 of 04/05/2017 for non-compliance with the norms for the content of FDP10 in atmospheric air in agglomerations and areas of the country, the non-fulfilment of obligations according to Ord. 2008/50/EC on the maximum permissible values of dust particles in atmospheric air, transposed into the requirements, reg. in Ordinance No.12/15.07.2010, as well as will help to implement the objectives of Priority 5 of Program Environment 2021-2027, the National Air Pollution Control Program and the 2019 EU EIR, noted in the report on Bulgaria, regarding reduction of the emissions and concentration of dust particles (FDP 2.5 and FDP 10).
