The main objective of the project proposal "Integrated Development of Boulevard Infrastructure and Urban Transport in the City of Ruse" is to develop and enhance sustainable urban mobility and significantly improve the environment in the city of Ruse. The project proposal is implemented in partnership between the Municipality of Ruse and “Municipal Transport Ruse" EAD. An integrated approach has been applied across five main activities, distributed as responsibilities between partners "Municipal Transport Ruse" EAD: Activity 1. "Purchase of electric buses, delivery, and installation of charging stations for the needs of public transport in Ruse" and Municipality of Ruse: Activity 2 "Renewal of bus stops for public urban transport in Ruse"; Activity 3 "Rehabilitation of Blvd. Tutrakan in Ruse"; Activity 4 "Purchase, delivery, and installation of filter cubes to combat PM particles at key busy intersections in Ruse"; Activity 5. Organization and management, including measures for visibility, transparency, and communication. Each activity contributes to achieving the main goal, has a synergistic effect, and leads to the following results: Replacement of public transport fleet with environmentally friendly vehicles - 8 electric buses purchased; Charging infrastructure provided for clean vehicles - 8 slow charging stations delivered and installed; Improved accessibility to public transport in Ruse - interventions on 188 bus stops; Rehabilitated key street infrastructure and improved access between different zones of impact in the city - 700 m section of Blvd. Tutrakan; Expanded coverage and quality of bicycle and pedestrian network in the city of Ruse - 0.7 km bike lane constructed; Improved urban environment in the city of Ruse - 1400 sq.m street landscaping; Improved air quality - 48 filter cubes delivered and installed at key busy intersections in Ruse. The project proposal corresponds to the PIRO 2021-2027 and SUMP 2016-2026 of Ruse municipality.
