The current project will address some of the main challenges facing the Bulgarian economy, including those related to the protection of industrial property (IP) and the implementation of innovations in real business, including through facilitated access to already protected rights. Effective management of IP is of fundamental importance in a knowledge-based economy. By understanding the legal framework and technological influences on industrial property, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises will be able to develop effective strategic management. Proactive identification and protection of IP are essential for the success of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. In an era where innovation is vital, investing in the efficiency, accessibility and knowledge of the system for protecting industrial property objects would undoubtedly bring significant returns and foster sustainable growth. For this purpose, measures have been provided to increase the interest of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in protecting industrial property objects both through direct financial support and by raising their awareness regarding the benefits of protecting industrial property to ensure a competitive advantage and tackling unfair competition and by providing more accessible services in the field of industrial property. A particularly important prerequisite for achieving all this is the presence of a well-functioning and constantly developing information technology environment of the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria for maintaining the industrial property system in the service of business and constantly improving the information security and administrative services provided by the institution. Therefore, as an important part of the project, technological modernization of these systems and their upgrading with new functionalities is envisaged, including those for online application of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises for financing under the project.
