Digital Innovation Hub Northwest, Automotive Cluster Bulgaria is a partnership initiative based on long-term collaboration between key partners with a regional presence and national importance for the automotive sector. The implementation of the project activities will contribute to the development of an innovative infrastructure that will support the manufacturing and automotive industry in Bulgaria in its transition towards the implementation of Industry 4.0 principles. The Digital Hub's portfolio of services will combine a wide range of topics that will lead to up-skilling of employees in the sector, increasing the capacity of SMEs and improving the standardisation of processes for better and more sustainable production. The innovative infrastructure will allow for empirical studies, the creation of test environments as well as the opportunity to train students on the use of digital automation solutions in industry and hands-on exercises with cooperative robots as well as "test before investing" (TBI) with the latest cutting-edge software and hardware available in the sector. The implementation of the project will position the Digital Hub as a reliable and secure partner that supports and promotes the digitalization of the automotive industry on a national and European scale by providing various services and events. The Hub will ensure the support and commitment of all key stakeholders in the transition towards the digitalisation of the sector and drive the implementation of Industry 4.0 principles. The project budget of EUR 3 864 349.73 will be spread across a wide range of services provided to the many SMEs in the automotive sector over the 36 months of the project and will lead to an increase in the skills and technological capabilities of SMEs in the automotive sector to meet the high standards of the new era in automotive manufacturing and environmental sustainability.
