Developing Innovative MEthods, Technologies and mOdels to support a Data driven Economy

The goal of project Developing Innovative MEthods, Technologies and mOdels to support a Data driven Economy is to introduce innovative and interdisciplinary training of PhD students in professional fields Mathematics and Informatics and computer sciences, and to prepare a new generation of researchers capable of creating knowledge and developing innovative methods, technologies and models aimed at the challenges of Industry, digital and green transition and data-driven economy. The project considers regional imbalances in higher education, correspondence of profiles of higher education institutions with labor market, demand for knowledge and skills for development and use of information and communication technologies. It is in line with general country needs, and specificity of South-Eastern Region and its emphasis on ICT research of seas, incl. of climate changes, pollution, etc., aimed at green transition and blue growth. The partners SU, IMI and BFU will collaborate in accredited PhD programs to train PhD students on topics of interest to their organizations and their Centers of Excellence in Informatics and ICT of ISSS: GATE, UNITe and IICT, and on the labor market in their regions. The project will provide opportunity for professional development of PhD students in accredited PhD programs, and for formation of transferable skills corresponding to the needs identified using the European Framework for Scientific Competences - ResearchComp. As a result, electronic materials for specialized courses will be developed and training schools for PhD students will be organized. Special attention will be paid on Open Science and Open Data, knowledge valorization, scientific communication and scientific entrepreneurship. The project will follow the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the European Framework for Researchers in the recruitment of PhD students and in the process of their training.
