Obesity is a rapidly growing epidemic. Ineffective therapies lead to ‘yoyo diets’ or weight cycling, reversing the health benefits of weight loss and even worsening it. We intend to establish a model of weight cycling disease in zebrafish, with a multi-omic approach to reveal new molecular targets and multigenerational effects for the formulation of future new diagnostic tools, drug discovery and treatment.
