The intervention area is part of the Significant Potential Flood Risk Area due to several floods that severely affected the population and economic activities. The operation aims to increase the territorial resilience capacity of the eastern river corridor and surrounding area to floods and associated soil contamination risk, through the creation of a retention and renaturalisation basin of the eastern river banks.
