This operation aims to modernise the New Sales Line, strengthening the rail connection of the port of Sines with the national platforms and with Europe in order to enable efficient rail freight transport, enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy. It also includes the electrification of the section, providing it with ERTMS and benefiting from safety and comfort conditions appropriate to current needs.
