The purpose of the project is to improve the collection, treatment and discharge of urban waste water in the agglomeration of Rochovce, which includes the municipalities of Rochovce, Slavošovce and Čierna Lehota, in the district of Rožňava. This project contributes directly to the protection of groundwater, in accordance with Council Directive 91/271/EEC and Slovak Government Regulation No 269/2010 laying down requirements for achieving good water status. The subject of the project is the construction of a sewage sewerage system and a new wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in the village of Rochovce. Within the agglomeration, sewage is currently collected in non-compliant cesspools and septic tanks that do not meet technical and environmental standards for the protection of water resources. The newly built sewage network and WWTP will ensure the efficient collection and treatment of sewage, significantly improving the environment and the quality of life of local residents. The main activities of the project are: Construction of sewerage system with a total length of 9.7234 km. Construction of a waste water treatment plant with a capacity of 3 100 inhabitants (2165 p.e.). The implementation of the project will connect 1,280 inhabitants to public wastewater treatment, which will ensure environmentally sustainable wastewater management in the region. The project is being implemented in the municipalities of Rochovce, Slavošovce and Čierna Lehota. In each of the municipalities, a new sewage network plus a waste water treatment plant for all three municipalities will be built in the municipality of Rochovce. Under Section 11 of Building Act No 50/1976, municipalities with more than 2000 inhabitants are required to draw up a land use plan. The municipality of Čierna Lehota and Rochovce are municipalities that have less than 2000 inhabitants and do not have an approved land use plan, which we confirm in section 15.
