The purpose of the project is to increase the protection of the health and lives of the inhabitants in the protected area, while enabling its safe territorial and economic development. Adjusting the riverbed will increase flood protection of the site and reduce primary and secondary flood damage. The implementation of the project will meet the declared target values of the measurable indicator "Population benefiting from flood protection measures" in the geographical area of the Váh sub-basin, the Malý Dunaj SKD001FD stream in the municipality of Trstice, where, according to the text part of the Váh sub-basin flood risk management plan, table 3.1, this indicator is set at 972 inhabitants. The implementation of the project will meet the declared target values of the measurable indicator "Newly built or reinforced flood protection of coastal strips, river banks and lakes" in the geographical area of the Váh sub-basin, the Malý Dunaj SKD001FD stream in the municipality of Trstice, where, according to the Project Documentation, this indicator is set at 2,285 km. The setting of targets for measurable project indicators is based on the Flood Risk Management Plan for the Váh sub-basin – 2021 update and the Project Documentation.
