Remediation of environmental burden on site B2 (004) Bratislava - Ružinov - Čierny Les (SK/EZ/B2/120) - second phase

The implementation of the remediation works will ensure the removal or reduction of the concentration of pollutants in groundwater and in the rock environment with a view to future land use. Emphasis will be placed on the selection of the most appropriate methods for the remediation of the EAW. The implementation of the remediation works will not endanger the state of the environment. In their implementation, emphasis will be placed on their quality, complexity and financial efficiency of the work in relation to the defined objectives of the project. After the completion of the project, the quality of life of the affected population, the state of the individual components of the RU, in particular groundwater and surface water, air, soil and rock environment, will improve. The implementation of the project will also have a positive impact on the surrounding ecosystems and biodiversity. In areas where contamination has been removed, the attractiveness of the region will increase. The Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic or a subordinate organisation will ensure systematic monitoring of environmental factors after the completion of remediation as part of the sustainability of the project. As part of the monitoring process, the ranges of chemical indicators determined, the frequency of sampling and the number of samples and the type of matrices will be adjusted on the basis of the development of the current situation and the detected degree of pollution in accordance with the professional principles of geological, geochemical and sampling work, respecting the related methodologies and procedures. The implementation of the project will achieve the established measurable indicators, namely the measurable indicator PO017 Number of remediated environmental burdens in number 1 and the measurable indicator PO060 Area of supported rehabilitated land in the area of 10.9291 hectares. The outputs of the project will be a remediated site, a site monitoring system, a final environmental burden remediation report with a sewerage risk analysis and an updated environmental burden registration sheet. Once the project is completed, the site monitoring system will be used for post-sanitary site monitoring. The final report of the remediation will be published in the Geofond archive and the information contained in the updated registration letter will serve to update the load data in the Environmental Burdens Information System. The remediation works will be carried out in accordance with Act No 569/2007 on geological works, as amended, and its implementing regulation – Decree No 51/2008 of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic implementing the Geological Act, as amended, and pursuant to Directive No 2/2000 of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic on the principles for the processing and transmission of tasks and projects in the geographical information system (GIS). The risk analysis of the contaminated site will be prepared in accordance with Decree No 51/2008 of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic implementing the Geological Act, as amended, and Directive No 1/2015-7 of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic to prepare a risk analysis of the contaminated site.
