Flood protection of the lower section of the Little Danube - Stage III. - Phases I and II The implementation of this phase will contribute to the improvement of the situation in the target area in the following indicators: Benefits to human health: - reducing the likelihood of flooding in the area concerned will have a positive impact on the protection of the health and lives of the people of the municipalities concerned, since their mental state has a significant impact on the overall health of the population. Good health leads to cost savings in the health sector (costs of treatment, medicines, etc.) and has an impact on employment or business activities. The proposed biotechnical measures in the Little Danube and Nitra river basins will mitigate the effects of climate change on the health of the population. Benefits to human security: - the implementation of the proposed measure will contribute to the fulfilment of the objectives of flood risk management, i.e. to reduce the likelihood of flooding of the area addressed and thus to increase the potential adverse consequences of flooding for human security and the safe territorial and economic development of the protected area, the proposed biotechnical measures in the Little Danube and Nitra river basins will mitigate the impacts of climate change on business activities, which will have a positive impact on the socio-economic security of people. Benefits for sustainable development: - Flood prevention measures are designed to maximise economic and social aspects without compromising the sustainability of the ecosystem, implementing the proposed measures will reduce/limit significant flood risk, thus helping to create a safe business environment and thus a safe territorial and economic development of the territory.
